Thousands take to French streets to protest same-sex marriage

France's Socialist government moves to authorize gay marriage, contrary to Catholic Church

The defenders of traditional marriage have taken to streets in France in protest of their Socialist government's intent to authorize gay marriage. They say the proposals would threaten a "major and dangerous upheaval."

The organizers said 200,000 people demonstrated in the Paris, compared to a police estimate of 70,000.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) -  Tens of thousands of people, joined by Catholic church leaders, marched in cities across the nation this past weekend to protest government plans to legalize same-sex marriage.

Waving banners with slogans such as "don't touch civil marriage," "all born from the union of a man and a woman" and "one father + one mother for all children," demonstrators were highly visible in the cities of Paris, Lyon, Marseille and other major towns.

The organizers said 200,000 people demonstrated in the Paris, compared to a police estimate of 70,000.

France's National Assembly is due to start examining the proposed law allowing same-sex marriage this coming January. A vote is expected in mid-2013. The proposal would grant gay couples the right to adopt children -- but not to use assisted procreation methods.

Recent polls show the majority of French people support gay marriage, while still many don't favor the right for homosexual couples to adopt.
Pope Benedict told French bishops visiting the Vatican on Saturday not to be "afraid" of spreading Christian teachings.

"In the important debates about society, the voice of the church must make itself heard relentlessly and with determination," he said.

The Vatican pledged earlier this month to never stop fighting attempts to "erase" the privileged role of heterosexual marriage, which it called "an achievement of civilization."

Among the protestors was Lyon Cardinal Philippe Barbarin. He says that marriage was defined at the very start of the Bible as created by God to join man and woman.

"I'm here like everyone else, like the Protestants, the Catholics, the Muslims, the philosophers, it's a message to politicians so that a debate is organized on such a fundamental issue," he said, adding that he had come as a "simple citizen."

How to Win the Culture War

"To win any war, the three most necessary things to know are: (1) that you are at war, (2) who your enemy is, and (3) what weapons or strategies can defeat him.

You cannot win a war (1) if you simply sew peace banners on a battlefield, (2) if you fight civil wars against your allies, or (3) if you use the wrong weapons..."

”A servant of God should fear nothing, not even Satan, who is soon discomfited when made little account of. If the Lord be mighty, the demons are but His bond-slaves; what evil therefore can they do to the servants of so great a King?”

Bravo for the French. They are way ahead of America's Catholics. The American Catholics would be just as active but they have no leadership from the Bishops and priests.

Too bad we cannot import these people here and have them talk some sense into Catholic democrats, who put into office a man who, among other corrupt acts, has equated sodomy with Holy Matrimony.

I am called a phobe for supporting marriage as defined by God, not as defined by the corrupt administration in Washington DC. If I am a phobe for standing by God and His laws, Catholic democrats are phobes if they oppose the following acts of "love" among and or between consenting adults:

1 man marrying six women at the same time, 5 men marrying eight women, wife-swapping parties-exchanging spouses just for an evening, incest among and/or between consenting adults (e.g. an 18-year-old girl marrying her father. Or her father marrying his daughter and several of her 18-year-old classmates).

Forgive me for using such language and examples on a Catholic website. If Catholic Online allows my email to be printed, I hope Catholic democrats will take some time to just think...think of what I feel like being called a phobe for opposing this amoral and corrupt administration in Washington for calling sexual perversion the equivalent of Holy Matrimony as defined by God

And I have not even mentioned the Catholic-democrat supported candidate's support of infanticide-even after the child survives the attempt to kill her in her mom's womb. Nor have I mentioned this evil administration's war against the Church under the guise of "health care".

Bravo to those who stand up for the Righteousness of God; These are the true friends of God; If man does not stand up for what is pure, for what is Holy, for what is right, the land will be taken over by what is evil; Some are bewitched by the homosexual spirit which has circirled around the world. The sensual nature of man is the weakness of man because it is about self, making self god, and covets others for selfishness, the pleasure of self. It is the animal nature in all of mankind. Yet, God, the Creator of man, wants man to seek to rise above the dust of the earth. Snakes, serpants crawl in the dust of the earth. And whom is spoken of as the serpant of the earth as when Adam and Eve were bewitched by the cunningness of the Evil One, Satan. The homosexual Leviathan has grown around the world attempting to destroy the very roots of what God has created, the family unit. If the male role is separated from the covering of the home family, then the woman is left uncovered. And as the Holy Scriptures say, Jesus Christ is the covering over the man. Who is the covering over the same sex unions? Not God, for God cannot lie against Himself for God made woman for man to go forth and procreate to grow the family who will worship the glory of God. Two women cannot produce a child as two men can not produce a child as in the nature of mans creation to produce. Many desire what they want as children demanding what I want I want no manner how I get what I want. Time to grow up to be in the image God desires His creations to be or the choice is to answer to the wrath of a Father who has to discipline disobedient children. That is if man believes there is God. So be the will of man. So be the will of God. Nevertheless, sit back and watch the childlike behavior of demonic spirits and the spirits of man who know the righteousness of God, righteousness, purity and holiness. How can God agree with something that is unrighteous, impure and unholy? God does not lie. He cannot go against Himself. Thus all these who fight for same sex unions and marriage are reprobates running in the delusional state of their minds controlled by demonic spirits of homosexuality. Bravo for those who stand up and speak up for if man does not stand up he will be forced to lie down and accept any winds of demonic teachings across the land and into each home. God help the children of today and tomorrow for the winds of adversity is stirring in the atmosphere. This is war of powers and principalities of the air. It is demonic. Pray.....
